You know great those Amy Winehouse singles sound? Well, here's the band that backs her up in the U.S.--and the woman producer Mark Ronson cribbed some attitude from for Back to Black. It's stunning to think soul this authentic could be recorded today. For those readers who remember the Ithaca days, this is the kind of music Bernie Milton wanted to make all the time, if only he had the resources and the top-notch players. I finally downloaded the first single and title track and I've not been able to get it out of my head for a week. I think its destined to become a mix disc staple for the next few months.
