At my office we've instituted a new program where someone gets to pick a different radio station every morning and that's what we listen to all day. Friday my pick was The Sound out of L.A., where one of my former L.A. co-workers Larry Morgan is the morning drive air talent. The station plays a decent mix of music--and they really impressed me by playing "Down to the Waterline" from Dire Straits self-titled 1978 debut. Any station that plans a deep cut like this one in morning drive is always going to impress me. I was so impressed that I ended up listening to the first three Dire Straits albums while traveling around Brooklyn this weekend. That made the two days bearable.
